Although the 2004 encounter between an unidentified flying object nicknamed ‘Tic Tac’ and US F/A-18 Hornet fighters made headlines in the mainstream media last winter through the Pentagon’s secret program to investigate encounters UFO, the story will continue to be talked about and debated for years. As we previously published in MEP, the aircraft carrier USS Nimitz, the Ticonderoga-class guided missile cruiser USS Princeton, the Grumman E-2 Hawkeye airborne early warning aircraft, and the F/A-18 Hornet fighters were implicated in the incident.
And according to a recent report, the most important thing was not the incident itself, rather that the mysterious objects were detected over six days, from November 10 to 16, 2004. US warfleet radars showed that they were performing impossible maneuvers. . They dropped from 60,000 feet (18,288 meters) to just above the water in a few seconds and hovered for a few minutes before zooming off at high speeds. However, even with an arsenal that included the most powerful air defense sensors and combat systems in the world, the objects were impossible to track continuously. And all this happened off the coast of San Diego, a place that seems to have a special attraction for UFOs. And 14 years later, this American city located on the coast of the Pacific Ocean in Southern California, returns to be the protagonist of a new and strange event. This time the San Diegans were surprised last Wednesday to see some mysterious lights in the sky over their city.
A fleet of UFOs over San Diego
San Diegans were in a panic Wednesday night after a set of strange, very bright lights briefly appeared in the sky before disappearing without a trace. The sightings came from everywhere, with videos uploaded to YouTube and photos shared on Twitter, but very little information about their origin. The videos showed a formation of mysterious lights, floating and motionless. A witness to the incident explained to the American newspaper “The San Diego Union-Tribune” that she saw the lights at 8:20 p.m. local time, which would be a little over an hour after sunset.
“They were floating in place and they were extremely bright,” said Uma Aggarwa. “It was the craziest thing I’ve ever seen in my life.”
Soon after, the strange lights joined a second, smaller array just in the sky. So they disappeared. Reports of sightings came in from Del Mar, north of the city; San Ysidro, which lies to the south along the border with Mexico; and La Mesa, about 16 kilometers to the east, according to the KUSI-TV television channel.
Other people said the “UFOs” hovered for about 10 minutes, mostly in a linear formation and sometimes in a Z formation. About 20 minutes after the objects disappeared into the night sky, helicopters could be heard hovering overhead. ocean with just a little red light.
And as expected, the panic among the users of social networks led to theories of all kinds. Some were convinced that it was an alien invasion, an attack by Russia or North Korea, or even a doomsday sign.
A new cover up
And it seems that none of these theories turned out to be correct, supposedly. The FOX 5 San Diego television network contacted authorities to find out what the source of the lights might be, and a spokesperson for the North Island Naval Air Base, on the northern tip of the Coronado peninsula, confirmed that the lights were simple. flares used during training exercises by Air Deployment Support Squadron 352 (VMGR-352), part of the 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing, based at nearby La Air Station Miramar Marine Corps
“A Navy spokesperson says those lights seen in the sky tonight are flares,” FOX 5 San Diego wrote on its Twitter account. “A squadron of aircraft is conducting “flare training” about 30 miles off the coast of San Diego. The lights could be seen intermittently until Thursday night, when the drills are expected to end.”
But of course, not everyone has believed the official explanation. Conspiracy theorists have claimed that it was a new cover-up, and that the mysterious lights were really alien ships performing some kind of maneuvers over San Diego. And because there were hundreds of people who witnessed the UFO sighting, the authorities were forced to use the same excuse as always, flares during military training. Let everyone believe what they want.
What is your opinion on the strange lights? UFOs of extraterrestrial origin? Or do you believe the official version, flares during military training?
